April Updates

​APRIL PACK MEETING - 4/19
Our April packing meeting is on Wednesday the 18th.  We will once again be at Seaman's lodge starting promptly at 6:30. We'll have $1/slice pizza starting at 6:00. 


ROCKET LAUNCH - 4/22
This year's Rocket Launch is scheduled for Sunday, 4/22 from 1:00 - 3:00.   We need several volunteers to bring tables (2 or 3) and EZ-Ups (2).  Please contact Bob Thomas ([email protected]) if you can help with either of these. 

We will provide the launch pads, families will need to bring their rockets, engines, and wadding. If you haven't done so yet, rockets can be purchased locally at Swasey's Hardware & Hobbies (past the Chevron station up the hill to the cul-de-sac - go left down the back of the buildings and Swasey's is on the left). The address is: 40 E Mcknight Way 11-14, Grass Valley.

However, we do have some smaller rockets and a few engines available at no charge. If you'd like one of these please contact Bob Thomas directly at Bob Thomas ([email protected]).

The property for the launch is located at: 12306 Spenceville Rd, Penn Valley, CA 95946

We'll have a sign posted pointing you in the right direction. The location is basically a large horse corral overlooking some rolling hills with tall grass. It can get very windy so you may want to bring bring sunglasses and lip balm. You may also want to bring something to sit on, snacks and water. There is no shade or toilet facilities.
