Fundraisers
Hike-A-Thon
One of the tenets of the Scout Law is "A Scout is THRIFTY." Scouts work to pay their own way. The Hike-A-Thon provides an opportunity for scouts to participate in a tangible event that enables them to connect with their community, set a goal, and work towards that goal. The funds each scout earns help to offset the expenses of participating in the Cub Scout program.
Camp Card Sales
Camp Cards are discount cards that scouts can sell to earn money that directly offsets expenses. Card sales occur in the spring of each year. The discounts on each card are for local businesses with discounts that more than offset the cost of the card. This fundraiser is an easy way to earn enough money to pay for membership fees, camp fees, and other scouting expenses. A full 50% of the cost of each card goes to the scout's account to cover those fees.
Popcorn Sales
Popcorn Sales are a great way for the Pack to earn money to help bring down the costs of our Spring Overnighter as well as doing other awesome, fun stuff that keeps our Pack going. Popcorn sales typically happen in the fall.
We often have a store-front stand in front of B&C and sell popcorn to our community. Scouts sign up for shifts with the number of sales being divided up by the cub scouts to count towards their PRIZES!!!
Additionally, we have take home order forms that get passed out at our Pack Meeting. These are to take to work, or collect from friends and family that live locally.
And Lastly, we have our online option. This option is great because you do not have to collect money, or deliver popcorn. PLUS, you get additional opportunities for prizes such as the Amazon gift card. IMPORTANT: When signing up online, you will create a user name and password and the next screen will ask 3 questions to make sure the proceeds go to our pack. PLEASE make sure you select the right ones to ensure we get the money, otherwise it won't count towards our Pack or your cub scouts prizes for the popcorn sales.
Council: Golden Empire
District: Butte
Unit: Pack 23
There are PRIZES for sales and every popcorn sold COUNTS, any of these 3 ways! More details will be discussed at the Pack Meeting and then an additional email to follow up.

Lion's Taco Booth
The Lions Club of Nevada City is our Charter Organization. They run the taco booth at the Nevada County Fair as one of their primary fundraisers. Scout parents are asked to take one or more volunteer shifts at the taco booth during the fair (mid-August each year). A portion of funds raised through this event are shared with Pack 23 Cub Scouts to help keep our programs going.
